Anywhere He leads me!
John 21:18 “Most assuredly, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish."
Going where God wants you to go requires utmost trust in Him and instant obedience to do His will. Are we ready? There would be a huge price to pay, when God tells us where to go, whom to marry, what to do and what to talk, some of us are not accustomed to taking orders, we like to give orders, though. Friends, if we trust Him, then we would lay our plans at His feet, rather than rushing to God for a last minute approval; like, ‘Lord, bless the girl I am planning to get married’ ‘ or ‘Lord, this is the house that I have built, please come and say Amen.’ How many of us wait upon the Lord to know His will? Do we fast and wait for His answer? Would we be ready to follow His orders, even if it seems to be difficult?
Peter, after receiving forgiveness and the initial pampering from the Lord through the meal prepared by Him, Jesus immediately gives Peter the agenda for his future: “you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish." This was the prophesy Peter received from Jesus, not something pleasant but hard, that required obedience. Peter did obey! Because he loved Jesus immeasurably!
Corrie Ten Boom and her entire family were put in a concentration camp and tortured for their Christian faith. Except her, the entire family died in the camp; after her release from the German concentration camp, she said, ‘One thing I hope is that I’ll never have to go back to Germany again. I am willing to go wherever God may want me to go, but I hope He’ll never send me to Germany.’ She avoided Germany because of the emotional scars in her heart. Visiting a place, where we had gone through agony and pain, is certainly excruciating. But after a few years, God placed it in her heart to visit Germany, when she kept avoiding God’s voice and pushing the thought away, she experienced a drift in her relationship with God. This was too painful for Corrie. When she enquired God for the reason, the answer was distinct and clear: Germany. Immediately Corrie decided to visit Germany and asked God to help her forgive everybody who had tortured her family to death. Going where God leads you, brings deliverance in your life! Amen.
Some of us want God to give us a blue print of our future, so that we could pack up accordingly, but God operates differently. He expects us to trust and follow Him, one step at a time.
